About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Ge Transport. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing products and product lines from concept through production using engineering skills and technical abilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Analyze research data and proposed product specifications to determine the feasibility of product proposals.
- Collaborate with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop designs.
- Direct and coordinate the manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems.
- Plan and develop experimental test programs.
- Analyze test data and report to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Evaluate engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
- Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
- Apply basic engineering and technical theory to various projects.
Requirements
- Qualified mechanical engineer with at least 2 years of experience.
- Experience in Railway or Automotive Industry is a plus.
- Ability to write technical documentation for documenting design theory, calculations, procedures, instructions, test plans, and test reports.
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
- Ability to work with concepts such as limits, quadratic equations, linear and non-linear equations, and proofs of theorems.
- Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, E-mail, FEA Software, database software, and project scheduling software.
- Advanced PTC CREO / CATIA / Auto CAD user.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
