Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Ge Transport. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing innovative mechanical designs and solutions that meet our customers' needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Analyze research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposals.
  • Collaborate with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop designs.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems.
  • Plan and develop experimental test programs.
  • Analyze test data and report to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Evaluate engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
  • Apply basic engineering and technical theory to various projects.
Candidate Profile:
  • Qualified mechanical engineer with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in Railway or Automotive Industry is a plus.
  • Ability to write technical documentation for documenting design theory, calculations, procedures, instructions, test plans, and test reports.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
  • Ability to work with concepts such as limits, quadratic equations, linear and non-linear equations, and proofs of theorems.
  • Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, E-mail, FEA Software, database software, and project scheduling software.
  • Advanced PTC CREO / CATIA / Auto CAD user.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
