Job Summary
Omya International Ag, a leading global producer of industrial minerals and distributor of specialty chemicals, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join its global business service team in Barcelona. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for processing vendor invoices and queries, ensuring timely payments and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate and post invoices in accordance with company guidelines and processes, adhering to country-specific legal requirements and controls.
- Resolve internal and external queries, including payment status, general information, and vendor reconciliation.
- Perform assigned tasks and collaborate with other teams for month-end closing.
- Provide support and build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Resolve quality control issues, such as VAT code, currency, and legal entity discrepancies.
Requirements
- University degree in finance and/or administration (desired, but not mandatory).
- Less than 2 years of experience in accounting.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP) is a plus.
- Fluent in English (C1) and good command of both oral and written communication.
- Native speaker level of one of the following languages: Polish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, or Czech (a plus).
