The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a highly skilled researcher to join its Dual-Use Technologies group. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the integration of digital ethics into current and future developments, including abductive reasoning, anticipation, code of ethics, and natural interrelation of facts and values.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement digital ethics research lines in collaboration with various partners and stakeholders.
- Contribute to scientific publications and reports on projects related to digital ethics and dual-use technologies.
- Interact with different partners and stakeholders to advance the research agenda.
- PhD degree in Cognitive Science and Language, with a strong focus on technology considering technical, ethical, and socio-cultural dimensions.
- At least 4 years of post-doctoral position experience.
- At least 5 papers or relevant scientific contributions in the last 5 years.
- International experience is essential.
- Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Spanish and other European languages would be advantageous.
- General knowledge in cognitive sciences and language will be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with AI regulatory frameworks such as EU AiAct will be valuable.
- The position will be located at BSC within the CASE Department.
- We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance.
- Duration: 4 years.
- Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.
- Salary: 55,000.00€.
- Additional Expenses Grant: Each fellowship will be associated with a grant for additional expenses, such as IT equipment, travel, training, stays, etc.
The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system. The recruitment process consists of two phases: Curriculum Analysis and Interview phase. The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.
