Origination & Valuation Associate

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and provide in-depth research on market mechanisms, regulatory changes affecting renewables, and market insights to support origination activities.
  • Develop market intelligence in existing markets, including market soundings.
  • Prepare documentation for buyers and EDP's top management, including commercial presentations and contractual reviews.
  • Proactively participate in the complete chain from origination to execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Utilities and Commercial or Industrial Customers (C&Is) in designated regions.
  • Coordinate with EDP internal departments and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Maintain departmental reporting lines through periodic and special-purpose reports.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate and master's degree required, with a preference for Engineering or Economics degrees and international experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English, with additional languages a plus.
  • Proven experience working with contracts in English and familiarity with electricity markets jargon.
  • Former experience in the electric power industry, including energy trading, feasibility analysis of renewable energy projects, renewable energy regulation, PPA sales, and/or commercial strategy.
  • Experience in consultancy firms is a plus.
