Origination & Valuation Associate Role

EDP RENEWABLES EUROPE,S.L. is seeking a highly skilled Origination & Valuation Associate to join its team. This role will involve originating new Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Utilities and Commercial or Industrial Customers (C&Is), managing existing energy-related contracts, and carrying out market intelligence analysis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and provide in-depth research of market mechanisms, regulatory changes affecting renewables, market insights, and any other support needed for Origination activities.
  • Develop Market Intelligence in existing markets, including Market Soundings.
  • Prepare documentation for Buyers and EDPR's Top Management.
  • Contractual review and analysis of energy-related contracts, including long-term PPAs and balancing services contracts.
  • Proactively participate in the complete chain from origination to execution of PPAs with Utilities and C&Is.
  • Coordinate with EDPR internal departments and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Maintain the departmental reporting line through periodic and special purpose reports.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate and master's degree required, with a master's degree in renewables highly valued.
  • Preferring Engineering or Economics degrees with international experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English, with additional languages a plus.
  • Proved experience working with contracts in English and familiarity with electricity markets jargon.
  • +2 years of former experience in the electric power industry, including energy trading, feasibility analysis of renewable energy projects, renewable energy regulation, PPA sales, and/or commercial strategy.
  • Experience in consultancy firms is a plus.
