About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Origination Specialist to join our team at EDP RENEWABLES EUROPE,S.L in Madrid, Spain.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for originating new Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Utilities and Commercial or Industrial Customers (C&Is) in designated regions. This involves analyzing market mechanisms, regulatory changes affecting renewables, and market insights to identify potential opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and provide in-depth research on market mechanisms, regulatory changes, and market insights to support origination activities.
  • Develop Market Intelligence in existing markets through Market Soundings.
  • Prepare commercial presentations for Buyers and EDPR's Top Management.
  • Review and analyze energy-related contracts, including long-term PPAs and balancing services contracts.
  • Participate in the complete chain from origination to execution of PPAs with Utilities and C&Is.
  • C coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Maintain departmental reporting lines through periodic and special purpose reports.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate and master's degree required; preference for Engineering or Economics degrees with international experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English; additional languages a plus.
  • Proved experience working with contracts in English and familiarity with electricity markets jargon.
  • +2 years' experience in the electric power industry, including energy trading, feasibility analysis of renewable energy projects, and PPA sales/commercial strategy.
What We Offer

At EDP RENEWABLES EUROPE,S.L, we offer a competitive salary range of €60,000 - €80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including comprehensive health insurance, pension plan, and 25 days' annual leave.
