About the Role

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is a leading international biomedical research institute seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for implementing, benchmarking, and running at scale in vitro and in cell selections for selecting protein-protein interactions.

About the Lab

The Lehner lab focuses on using massively parallel selection experiments to tackle fundamental encoding problems in molecular biology. Our team has developed, benchmarked, and applied at scale experimental methods that use DNA synthesis-selection-sequencing to perform biophysical measurements, including quantifying how changes in sequence alter protein stability, binding affinity, aggregation, allostery, and expression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize new experimental protocols
  • Implement and benchmark in vitro and in cell selections for selecting protein-protein interactions
  • Work in an interdisciplinary team to analyze deep mutational scanning data and fit mechanistic and statistical models to the data
  • Contribute to the development of computational methods for analyzing deep mutational scanning data
Requirements
  • PhD or master's degree in molecular biology or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in molecular biology and experimental assay development
  • Proven experience in experimental methods development
  • Advanced molecular biology skills
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and plan, optimize, and execute complex protocols
