Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S. A. is seeking a highly skilled Offshore Construction Technician to join our team. As a key member of our installation and commissioning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation of wind turbines at offshore locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and conduct the installation of wind turbines, including preparation of transition pieces, tools, equipment, and components.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, project requirements, corporate methods, and industry legislative standards.
- Train and supervise new colleagues and 3rd party employees on installation procedures.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, documentation, and reports as required by company policy.
- Lead small teams and ensure that work is conducted according to defined workflow and work instructions.
- Act as signaler in accordance with work instructions, checklists, and lift plans.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience of all aspects of wind turbine installation, including slinging, signaling, mechanical completion, retrofit & snagging works.
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems and isolation procedures, preferably with a recognized qualification.
- High level of health and safety focus with experience of working with safe systems of work.
- Ability to work as part of a team and/or on own initiative and confidence to work at height.
- 2+ years of installation or commissioning experience.
- Candidates must be able and willing to frequently travel within the United States, to Canada, and occasionally internationally.
- Driving is an essential function of the job; applicants must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
