We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Piping Stress Engineer to join our team at John Wood Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing stress analysis calculations, selecting and supporting piping systems, and generating and controlling special pipe supports.
Key Responsibilities- Perform stress analysis calculations, including static and dynamic analysis, to ensure the integrity of piping systems.
- Select and adequately support piping systems from a standard library of pipe supports, taking into account factors such as material selection and installation requirements.
- Generate and control special pipe supports, including springs, bellows, slide joints, and cold supports, to meet project specifications.
- Assist and advise on the design of non-standard type pipe supports, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Review vendor package and equipment drawings for compliance with project specifications, identifying any potential issues or discrepancies.
- Assist the Lead Piping Engineer in areas related to piping stress analysis and pipe support, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed.
- Monitor and progress work fronts in specifically assigned areas, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
- 5-8 years of experience in analyzing piping systems to ANSI/ASME Codes in relation to piping stress analysis.
- Display an awareness of Local, National, and International Standards as applied to Pipe Stress Analysis, including knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of piping flexibility, including the ability to specify data for the selection and purchase of pipe supports.
- Ability to develop, from first principles and information, the generation of critical piping systems, taking into account factors such as material selection and installation requirements.
- Excellent command of the English language, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
- Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required, as well as immediate availability to join our team.
