Contract Creation Manager

Key Responsibilities- Manage all study-level contracts under Clinical Development Operations and Oncology Development Operations.
- Advise functions on expert knowledge in contracting of external partners, including Contract Research Organizations (CROs), specialized service providers, laboratories, research facilities, and clinics.
- Initiate, negotiate, and conclude different types of contracts as a center of expertise.
- Drive the contract development and contract amendment process as part of a study or project team.
- Review contract terms and language, ensuring consistency and highlighting issues to Legal, Data Privacy, and Procurement as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of contracted activities, including potential cost implications.
- Partner with Legal, Procurement, and Data Security to ensure compliance.
- Liaise with internal and external partners to accurately communicate contract statuses and issues.
- Negotiate costs to support Procurement and the study team.
- Ensure alignment of cross-functional contractual topics through interactions with different counterparts.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues on different professional levels in an international and multi-cultural environment.
- Seek support and guidance from the Bayer Local Organization as needed.
- Work and support the Bayer Local Organization on complex contracts and projects.
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate the smooth and timely development, administration, execution, and tracking of global contract execution.
- Exercise clear decision-making with regard to issue identification and troubleshooting to achieve contract execution.
- Manage internal and external contract signature processes.
- Confirm smooth communication with external vendors and arrange distribution and countersignature.
- Provide final signed contracts for the Trial Master File (TMF).
- Organize, maintain, and electronically track all contracts and related documents.
- Initiate and coordinate Purchase Order preparation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in procurement or contract management.
- Strong familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices.
- Advanced training or certification in finance or legal-related functions a plus; experience with financial tasks a plus; knowledge of the clinical development lifecycle/drug development process.
- Ability to effectively influence without hierarchical authority.
- Willingness to embrace change and work in a changing environment.
- Thorough written and oral communication skills in English.
- Able to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel.
- Fluent in English.
