Job Summary:
Fluor Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Tarragona, Spain. As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the regional team in the design and implementation of control systems for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems
- Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
- Develop estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantity tracking reports
- Identify deviations in job scope, estimate magnitude of changes, and initiate trends or change orders
- Support estimate activities
- Interface with project disciplines and client representatives
- Develop and build client relations promoting Client Service Excellence
- Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
- Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
- Prepare/review scopes of work for third party contracts
- Perform control systems sizing calculations for control valves, relief valves, flow elements, thermowells and other instrumentation
- Create instrument index and datasheets and generate reports in Hexagon Smart Instrumentation database
- Develop intermediate complexity control systems narrative specifications
- Develop basic control systems, cause and effect diagrams, or logic diagrams as required by project
- Represent control systems and participate in model reviews
- Develop specifications and design of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) hardware and software applications; monitor DCS/PLC/SIS design developed by the design group
Requirements:
- Bachelor or equivalent in engineering field
- More than 10 years of relevant working experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish
- Intermediate knowledge of: specifying instrumentation, control systems procurement activities, piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) representation
- Ability to recognize/report problems associated with control systems representation on P&ID
- Knowledge to develop control strategies and represent on P&ID
- Advance level of INTOOLS and/or PRODOK
