About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our team at Expedia, Inc. in building an intelligent, scalable platform for the Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain our TAAP product in a continuously integrated environment.
- Build automated regression tests, participate in peer code reviews, and provide estimates on work.
- Contribute to writing, refactoring, testing, and perfecting code.
- Create APIs to be consumed across the business unit.
- Craft clean code using design patterns and object-oriented concepts, to ensure code is highly maintainable.
- Understand how teams' goals fit a business need.
- Identify business problems at the project level and provide solutions.
Requirements:
- Strong expertise in Kotlin/Java, messaging/queue systems, SQL and NoSQL technologies.
- Experience with Web UI technologies including Javascript, Typescript, Webpack, HTML5, CSS, and NodeJS.
- Experience working in AWS and continuous delivery practices.
- Ability to test, monitor, debug, and fix issues within established SLAs, using testing and monitoring tools.
- Able to design software that is easily testable and observable.
- Continually seek new technical skills in an engineering area.
- Comfortable working with several forms of technology.
- Compile and report on major operational or technical initiatives to larger groups, whether via written or oral means.
