Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in defining, developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining software applications and libraries for our global feature animation pipeline. You will research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, test, deploy, and document proprietary software used in concurrent film productions.
  • Analysis and Assessment: Analyze and assess existing workflows and procedures related to our Pipeline.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with IT infrastructure, IT Client Services, Wrangling, Production, and Show TD teams to resolve problems with hardware, software products, or company software systems.
  • Technical Expertise: Keep up with current methodologies, technology trends, and tools that best suit our production and the company.
  • Team Guidance: Follow the team's technical guidelines and provide support, guidance, and instruction in areas that contribute to the professional growth of team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively look for risks and problems in the current system and propose improvements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Proactively reach out to stakeholders and inform them about the progress of tasks, setting expectations promptly.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: BS degree in Computer Science or 5+ years of working experience, preferably in animation.
  • Engineering Skills: Solid engineering skills, with an appreciation of code craft, quality, and technical debt management.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work with a team to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of writing efficient and performant code in Python3+.
  • Task Management: Familiarity with task management systems/frameworks like Agile Sprint, Jira, Scrums, Daily Standups, etc.
Tech Stack
  • Production Front End Systems and Libraries: Knowledge of production pipelines using USD and its integration into Houdini(Solaris), Maya, Nuke, and other digital content creation applications and their APIs.
  • Backend Technologies: Familiarity with Linux development environment essentials, such as bash scripting and general Linux native commands (find, grep, sed, etc.).
  • Database and Deployment Systems: Experience working with a source version control system (Git preferred), databases (RDBMS and/or Non-Relational DB) like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, deployment systems like Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, and in-memory caching systems like Redis, Memcached.
  • Web Service Patterns and Frameworks: Knowledge of developing CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab or Github), web service patterns like REST API, GraphQL, RPC, and web frameworks like FastAPI, Django, Flask.
