Join Our Team as a Stress Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer to join our team at Destinus, a company pioneering near-space vehicles and infrastructure for the world's fastest transportation network.

As a Stress Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing mechanical/structural systems for subsonic/supersonic and hypersonic flights. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing detailed structural and thermal analyses and sizing of aerospace structures, components, and systems
  • Guiding structural optimization and design improvements
  • Delivering detailed FEM models used for analysis from GFEM to detailed analysis
  • Defining sizing loads and load cases required for scoping detailed analysis
  • Delivering preliminary sizing calculations, hand calculations, and simplified estimates to inform the design
  • Supporting ground and flight tests
  • Delivering detailed technical reports and presentations
  • Assisting in the development of manufacturing integration and test processes and procedures
  • Supporting the definition and execution of the qualification and certification process

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in aerospace engineering and experience in FEM analysis, stress hand calculation/analytical methods, and lightweight structural design for aerospace. Additionally, you should have experience with Matlab and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, French, or German language is an advantage.
