About Us:
Street Child is a charitable organization focused on empowering some of the most at-risk children globally by providing them with educational opportunities and supporting their families to sustain these opportunities. This is an exciting time to engage with our mission; we are a dynamic international development charity, and this is your opportunity to contribute to a meaningful fundraising journey.
We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who help keep our operational costs low, ensuring that a significant portion of our funding directly supports our projects in West Africa and Asia. We are currently seeking a full-time (33 hours/week) Spanish intern to work with us. The ideal internship duration is 6 months, although shorter commitments can be discussed.
At Street Child, we value diverse skill sets among our interns and are willing to tailor tasks based on the intern's unique strengths and preferences.
Key Responsibilities:
You will collaborate with a small team under the guidance of the Street Child EU Development Manager. Below are some examples of your responsibilities, with a focus on the first two tasks:
- Fundraising Research: Identify new funding opportunities, including trusts, foundations, and major donors in Spain, and initiate contact with them.
- Proposal Writing: Draft funding proposals for trusts and foundations, utilizing knowledge of previous, current, and upcoming Street Child projects.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with daily office operations, including minute-taking during meetings and other administrative tasks.
Communications Management:
- Oversee social media platforms, update the website, promote local and international events, manage email campaigns, and handle translations between English and Spanish.
- Volunteer Coordination: Manage the existing volunteer network, assist in recruiting new volunteers, support planned events, and contribute new ideas.
- Business Development: Establish and maintain collaborations and partnerships with other organizations and businesses.

Expense Reimbursement: We offer monthly cost recovery of up to 150€ upon submission of receipts.

- Genuine interest in the non-profit sector and Street Child's mission, along with a willingness to be flexible and enjoy a collaborative team environment.
Educational Background:
- Fields of study may include, but are not limited to, international relations, human rights, development, economics, global affairs, or marketing.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanor.
- Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English are required (knowledge of Catalan is a plus).
- Experience in document translation.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and Microsoft Office is essential.
- Understanding of the fundraising landscape in Spain and its various channels is advantageous.
