The Role

An Android Software Engineer is a critical role within our technology team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced applications for the Android platform. Key responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and design new features, troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance, and ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain Android applications.
  2. Utilize Java and Kotlin programming languages.
  3. Implement UI/UX designs provided by the design team.
  4. Collaborate with product owners to define project requirements and scope.
  5. Partner with designers to ensure the visual aspects align with the intended design.
  6. Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate RESTful APIs and other services.
  7. Troubleshoot and debug issues to enhance application performance.
  8. Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  9. Optimize applications for maximum security and scalability.
  10. Stay updated with the latest developments in the Android ecosystem.
  11. Explore new technologies and frameworks to improve development processes.
  12. Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions.
  13. Work with QA engineers to ensure comprehensive testing and quality assurance.
  14. Maintain detailed documentation for application development processes.
  15. Document code changes and updates for future reference.
  16. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Android development.
  2. Proficiency in Kotlin programming languages.
  3. Strong understanding of Android SDK and handling different screen sizes.
  4. Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  5. Proficiency with Android Studio and version control systems, particularly Git.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  7. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  8. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
