Job Description:

At Trouw Nutrition, we are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our HR Services Hub. This role focuses on the delivery and transactional part of the payroll processes for assigned locations and Nutreco entities.

The Payroll Specialist will ensure consistent and timely processing of employee time information, working closely with the HR Service team, local HRBPs, and the business.


About The Role:

Responsibilities:

  • Apply payroll and benefit policies, principles, legislation, and collective bargaining agreement provisions;
  • Verify payroll reports for accuracy and completeness before distribution;
  • Prepare manual payroll cheques in compliance with corporate procedures and update the payroll system for accuracy;
  • Liaise with the payroll provider to handle system issues and required programming and updates;
  • Conduct research to provide accurate information, guidance, and assistance to employees on payroll-related matters;
  • Prepare remittances and reconcile payroll deductions, including union dues, charity, statutory deductions, pension, and government filings;
  • Align with the global Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on executing payroll processes;
  • Be a liaison with governmental tax bodies and required agencies, relating to payment of deductions and premiums;

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, HR, or a relevant field;
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in payroll and benefits administration;
  • Proven experience working on continuous improvement projects and project management;
  • Excellent communication and written skills in English and French;
  • Good communicator, building relationships, and making connections between internal and external contacts;
  • Strive for operational excellence and high-quality work in a transparent and efficient manner;
  • Analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills;
