Job Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Technical Service Engineer to join our Bioscience team in Madrid. As a Technical Service Engineer, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting to improve customer experience and contribute to the overall success of our company.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver exceptional customer support by effectively resolving instrument hardware and software related inquiries, engaging with customers via phone, email, and remote support tools.
  2. Collaborate across functions to optimize instrument performance and ensure customer success.
  3. Work closely with Applications Support and Field Service Engineers to prioritize activities and ensure a successful outcome.
  4. Represent the company in a positive, professional manner in all dealings with Thermo Fisher Scientific customers.
  5. Manage service requests and administrative responsibilities.
  6. Act within our general policies, business processes, and procedures (PPP) and local procedures and rules.
  7. Contribute to achieve specific Global Service & Support (GSS) related targets as defined for revenue, profit, service order volume, etc.

Requirements

  1. B.S. (or equivalent experience) or higher in science/engineering or a related field.
  2. Professional background in life sciences, cell biology, biomedical engineering, or related subjects.
  3. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve problems on electronic and mechanical instrumentation in a scientific laboratory environment, with a focus on remote resolution.
  4. Application experience with Flow Cytometry.
  5. Preferred application experience with Cell Sorting.
  6. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
  7. Proficiency in both verbal and written communication in English, as well as a good command of French or German.
  8. Basic software skills and computer literacy.
