Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Service Engineer to join our Bioscience team. As a Technical Service Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to apply your expertise in Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting to improve customer experience and contribute to the overall success of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver Exceptional Customer Support: Excel in delivering outstanding customer support through effectively resolving instrument hardware and software related inquiries.
  2. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate across functions within the organization to optimize instrument performance and ensure the success of our customers.
  3. Work with Applications Support and Field Service Engineers: Work closely with Applications Support and Field Service Engineers to prioritize activities and ensure a successful outcome.
  4. Represent the Company: Represent the company in a positive, professional manner in all dealings with Thermo Fisher Scientific customers, both external and internal.
  5. Manage Service Requests and Administrative Responsibilities: Manage service requests and administrative responsibilities.
  6. Act within Company Policies and Procedures: Act within our general policies, business processes and procedures (PPP) and local procedures and rules.
  7. Customer Relationship Management: Customer relationship management, written documentation of service activities, and effective interaction and communication with internal personnel, manufacturing, and sales.
  8. Contribute to Global Service & Support Targets: Contribute to achieve specific Global Service & Support (GSS) related targets as defined for revenue, profit, service order volume, etc.
Responsibilities
  1. Direct Technical/Hardware Support Assistance: Direct technical/hardware support assistance for customers.
  2. Focus on Remote Resolution and Dispatch Avoidance: Focus on remote resolution and dispatch avoidance.
  3. Prioritize Customer Experience and Allegiance: Prioritize customer experience and allegiance.
  4. Support Continuous Improvement Projects: Support continuous improvement projects as requested.
  5. Other Duties as Assigned: Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Education: B.S. (or equivalent experience) or higher in science/engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience: Professional background in life sciences, cell biology, biomedical engineering, or related subjects.
  3. Technical Skills: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve problems on electronic and mechanical instrumentation in a scientific laboratory environment, with a focus on remote resolution.
  4. Application Experience: Application experience with Flow Cytometry.
  5. Preferred Application Experience: Preferred application experience with Cell Sorting.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
  7. Language Skills: Proficiency in both verbal and written communication in English, as well as a good command of French or German.
  8. Software Skills: Basic software skills and computer literacy.
