About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer AIX Expert to join our team at TUI. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of our AIX-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure 24/7 system availability and provide cross-departmental assurance of service quality.
  • Plan, deploy, and test new releases within the system architecture and customize systems in coordination with customers or application developers.
  • Support system-specific tasks in application migrations and analyze existing systems for performance, utilization, and cost optimization.
  • Develop and implement backup and restart concepts, as well as procedures and standards for privacy and data security.
  • Assign and manage system access rights, automate operations, and ensure up-to-date documentation of assigned systems and components.
  • Administrate Network Installation Management (NIM) tool and Hardware Management Console (HMC) for IBM Power-Server, manage firmware patches, and plan, deploy, and test system migrations.
  • Develop and implement system monitoring and Unix system-programming, support internal and external audits, and communicate with external service providers.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in computer science or a comparable subject, or comparable on-the-job knowledge and experience.
  • Practical experience in IT service management (ITIL) and pronounced ability to work in international teams.
  • Quick understanding of complex contexts and process insights gained, as well as experience and knowledge in problem determination methods in AIX environments.
  • Very good spoken and written German and English language skills, with a willingness to be on call (7×24) and travel.
  • A high level of initiative and strong sense of responsibility, with high customer and service orientation.
