About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Engineer AIX Specialist to join our team at TUI. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the 24/7 availability of our systems and providing cross-departmental assurance of service quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deploy, and test new releases within the given system architecture and customize systems in coordination with customers or application developers.
  • Support system-specific tasks in the context of application migrations.
  • Analyze existing systems in terms of performance, utilization, and degree of utilization, and advise customers or application developers on cost optimization, tuning potentials, and performance effects.
  • Develop and implement backup and restart concepts.
  • Develop and implement appropriate procedures and standards, and monitor compliance with privacy and data security requirements.
  • Assign and manage system access rights.
  • Automate operations.
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation of assigned systems and system components.
  • Administrate Network Installation Management (NIM) tool.
  • Administrate Hardware Management Console (HMC) for IBM Power-Server.
  • Manage firmware patches.
  • Plan, deploy, and test system migrations within the given system architecture in coordination with customers.
  • Develop and implement system monitoring and Unix system-programming.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Communicate with external service providers.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a degree in computer science or a comparable subject, or comparable on-the-job knowledge and experience. Practical experience in IT service management (ITIL) is also required. You should have a pronounced ability to work in international teams, be quick on the uptake, and have the ability to understand complex contexts and process insights gained.
