Job Description

Applus IDIADA is seeking a highly skilled Powertrain Simulation Engineer to join our team in Spain. As a key member of our powertrain virtual development team, you will contribute to the development of 1D models for powertrain simulation using GT-suite software.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop 1D models for powertrain virtual development using GT-suite software.
  • Support the continuous development of IDIADA's in-house 0D/1D models and libraries for energy consumption and vehicle performance simulations.
  • Integrate models in MiL environment, implement model upgrades, and ensure model accuracy improvements.
  • Develop control logic and software implementation in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Analyze vehicle test results for model correlation.
  • Develop scripts and tools in MATLAB/Simulink and Python for data pre/post processing, simulation, and reporting tasks.
Requirements
  • Master of Science or equivalent degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Automotive, or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Advanced level in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience with commercial 1D simulation software (i.e. GT-suite, Simcenter Amesim).
  • Knowledge of Python for data analysis, machine learning, and optimization is desirable.
  • Deep understanding of powertrain systems and control strategies, including conventional ICE and electrified vehicle applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with intellectual curiosity and the drive to investigate technical facts in-depth.
