We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced R&D Powertrain Engineer to join our team at Applus IDIADA. As a key member of our powertrain light-duty vehicles engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative solutions for vehicle testing and development.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Support the Project Manager with projects related to Green NCAP, including testing program development, environmental impact assessment, and data analysis.
- Vehicle Testing: Conduct real driving testing, climatic testing, and vehicle instrumentation to assess vehicle performance and emissions.
- Data Analysis: Analyze test data and results to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present technical reports and updates to clients, including validation of testing data and results.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement improved test procedures and reporting to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest powertrain testing protocols, including Green NCAP testing protocols, and contribute to their development and improvement.
- Scripting and Automation: Develop scripts and tools in Matlab, Visual Basic, and Python to automate pre/post processing, data analysis, and reporting tasks.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and regulatory frameworks affecting vehicle energy efficiency and pollutant emissions.
- Quotations and Presentations: Prepare quotations for customers and present commercial and technical information to clients.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in powertrain area.
- Knowledge: Previous experience with powertrain testing protocols, electric energy management, and range activities for EVs.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, project management experience, and knowledge of Python, Visual Basic, and data analysis.
- Education: Master of Science or equivalent degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or similar.
- Language: Fluent in English is mandatory, German and French are valuable.
