Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Madrid. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting our Senior Accountant with day-to-day project accounting functions, including development, construction, and operational energy projects and related entities in the United Kingdom, various corporate accounting tasks in Spain, and other support activities related to accounting, tax, AP, and treasury for holding companies in Invenergy's growing international portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Statement Preparation

Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements for our energy projects and related entities.

Project Workbooks and General Ledger

Assist in preparing project workbooks to support balance sheet and income statement, and ensure the accuracy of all general ledger information.

Annual Audit Work

Assist with annual audit work, including coordination with external auditors and preparation of audit schedules.

Treasury and Banking

Help coordinate projects treasury, banking, and cash flow analysis, including preparation of cash flow forecasts and analysis of financial performance.

Tax Compliance

Assist in monitoring tax compliance and accounting activities within Invenergy group internationally, with special focus in Spain, including preparation of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.

Administrative Tasks

Assist with other administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and preparation of reports.

Requirements

  • Education

Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Law.

Experience

0-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field.

Skills

Basic understanding of IFRS and/or Spanish GAAP, proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office skills, and intermediate level of English.
