The Role:

We're seeking a highly skilled Japanese/English translator to join our Tokyo office. As our Onsite Translator, you'll play a key role in bridging communication between our English-speaking team and Japanese-speaking clients and partners. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Translating spoken communication between English and Japanese during client meetings, events, and internal discussions.
  • Traveling to various client meetings and events to provide in-person translation support.
  • Assisting with written communication, including emails, documents, and other materials in both English and Japanese.
  • Supporting the team in translating documents, presentations, and marketing materials as needed.
  • Helping facilitate communication across different levels, ensuring clarity and mutual understanding.
Requirements:
  • Fluency in English and Japanese, both written and oral, is essential.
  • Confidence in communicating with people at all levels, from senior executives to clients and colleagues.
  • Willingness to be present in the Tokyo office 5 days a week and travel for meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively and professionally.
