The Software Sales Engineer plays a vital role in AVL by identifying customer needs for Simulation & Testing Software and translating these needs into effective technical solutions. This position involves coordinating technical proposals and quotations for customer requests, as well as visiting customer sites to understand their requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate technical solutions and quotations in response to customer requirements for AVL Simulation & Testing Software.
- Identify new business opportunities for AVL Software Business Unit.
- Develop relationships within the existing customer base and acquire new customers for AVL Software Business Unit, driving sales and achieving business targets.
- Make presentations and conduct software demonstrations at customer locations or via online meetings.
- Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of AVL portfolio, and reach alignments to provide a solution.
- Prepare sales plans using company tools and support forecasting planning tasks.
- Perform regular status reviews throughout the AVL worldwide organization.
- Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in AVL SW solutions and provide market feedback for future software development and improvement.
- Ensure local execution of go-to-market strategies and product launches, ensuring efficient marketing activities and value proposition to customers.
- Support customers during the on-boarding phase and collect customer satisfaction information.
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Industrial engineering, Electrical or Electronic engineering, Automotive engineering, or other related SW Engineering.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish, with German desirable.
- Self-motivated and capable of setting and executing the strategy to accomplish goals.
- Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- High technical understanding and sales or sales support experience.
- Highly customer-focused and able to solve customer-related issues to mutual satisfaction.
- Planning, prioritizing, and coordinating workload with minimal guidance.
- Willingness to travel (10%) and commitment to flexibility.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry and its current challenges.
- Demonstrated successful experience in technical sales is preferred.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of powertrain testing and development, including project planning, project work, and project management.
- Ability to support sales operation teams and competence in products, applications, markets, and competition in the Spanish industry (related to automotive software business).
- Experience in CAE Software Sales and CRM Software sales tools is an asset.
