Job Description

At Cemex, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead our Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCUS) projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of feasibility studies and live projects, ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects on time and within scope.

Main Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Scope Definition: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, resource requirements, and dependencies.
  • Resource Allocation and Team Leadership: Allocate resources effectively to project tasks and lead cross-functional project teams. Provide clear direction, guidance, and motivation to team members, ensuring their understanding of project goals and roles.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop contingency plans to address potential issues that could impact project timelines, costs, or quality. Regularly review risk assessments and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial constraints. Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Establish strong communication channels with internal and external stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, and potential challenges. Address concerns and maintain positive relationships with all parties involved.
  • Project Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring mechanisms to track project performance against established metrics. Prepare and deliver comprehensive project status reports, highlighting accomplishments, issues, and potential solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet the highest quality standards. Implement quality control processes, conduct regular reviews, and facilitate necessary adjustments to uphold project quality.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with regulations and standards relevant to CCUS projects. Ensure that all project activities align with environmental, safety, and legal requirements.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of managing complex projects from initiation to closure. A deep understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques is essential. The ideal candidate should also have proven knowledge and experience of Carbon Capture Projects or Oil and Gas related projects.
