About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our team in Barcelona. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation systems for our railway solutions.

Your primary focus will be on working with cameras and lasers to optimize train maintenance, ensuring that industrial processes are efficient, reliable, and meet the required standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the architecture and specifications of our platforms, perform factory acceptance testing, and provide maintenance support to deployed systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automation systems, including requirement capture, detailed design, and integration of software and hardware components.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to define the architecture and generate specifications for our platforms.
  • Perform factory acceptance testing and commissioning on client sites.
  • Provide maintenance support, including fault finding, diagnostics, and upgrades, to deployed platforms.
  • Participate in design reviews and propose new R&D initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to provide control solutions and drive improvement action plans.
Requirements
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is desirable.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience with implementing automation systems, preferably with Beckhoff PLCs.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI creation, and SCADA configuration.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus, Profinet, and EtherCAT.
  • Knowledge of certification processes and railway standards.
  • Excellent English language skills (C1 level) and proficiency in French is desirable.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for validations and training purposes.
