Job Summary:
VHIR is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical support in planning and carrying out preventive activities to ensure the protection of workers' health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement general preventive tasks associated with safety, hygiene, ergonomics, and psychosocial measures.
- Conduct risk assessments and periodic control of working conditions to identify areas for improvement and propose preventive measures.
- Support the elaboration, update, and implementation of self-protection plans for VHIR and VHIO centres, according to current regulations.
- Collaborate in the implementation, planning, and realization of drills.
- Report on risks detected in terms of safety, hygiene, ergonomics, and/or psychosociology.
- Propose planning of necessary preventive actions.
- Advise on training and information plans for staff, including the detection of needs and the establishment of evaluation systems and monitoring measures.
- Review investigations of work accidents to objectify their causes and propose corrective measures to avoid repetition.
- Carry out general training and information tasks at all levels related to ORP.
- Provide advice and technical assistance for the consultation, communication, and participation of workers.
- Perform tasks related to the CAE with external companies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in sciences (chemistry) or biosciences (biology, microbiology).
- Higher education in Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP), occupational safety specialties, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics, and psycho-sociology.
- MS Office (Word and Excel) medium-high level.
- Minimum experience of 2 years in a similar position within biomedical research laboratories.
