Catenon is seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our team. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for securing a multi-year uninterrupted supply of selected category materials in the factories at competitive cost and quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Sourcing and Procurement: Responsible for the sourcing of the portfolio entrusted, being a specialist in the markets with a competitive advantage and continuous improvement by minimizing spend.
- Market Analysis: Perform global internal and external analysis, generate local opportunity proposals, and provide input into global opportunity assessment.
- Purchasing Strategies: Define, lead, and implement successfully global purchasing strategies and/or action plans by category and execute and/or supervise negotiations with suppliers about price, quality, and delivery conditions of materials.
- Category Planning: Mobilize the business to implement category plans.
- Competitive Advantage: Provide the company with a competitive advantage.
- Negotiation Results: Report and explain negotiation results and impact within the company.
- Financial Planning: Translate feedstock and market assumptions into annual budget and quarterly reforecast of portfolio spend.
- Data Management: Ensure up-to-date and correct purchasing data and related information in the information systems.
- Supply Base Development: Build on and develop the supply base to ensure the capacity and flexibility to meet all of the organization's requirements.
- Supplier Management: Manage suppliers professionally and proactively to ensure a high level of supplier performance.
- Compliance: Ensure the legal framework and codes and guidelines are applied in tenders, negotiations, and contracts.
- Issue Resolution: Lead resolution of any escalation of issues with suppliers.
- Performance Metrics: Set key performance indicators.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and influence stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: University degree in business, finance, commercial, economics, or engineering.
- Experience: 5-6 years in FMCG in a Procurement role.
- Leadership Skills: A proven ability to lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, directly linked to COGs and/or overhead budgets and success in getting projects implemented.
- Cultural Competence: Experience within global, multicultural organizations and proven ability to lead and work effectively with people from different cultures and in various cross-functional teams.
- Technical Skills: Computer literacy in SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Language Skills: High English level (spoken and written).
- Analytical Skills: Analytical skills.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and solving problems.
- Autonomy: Ability to work autonomously across a variety of projects and work under pressure.
- Project Management: Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and projects.
- Continuous Development: A drive for continuous professional development in self and others.
