About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining innovative software solutions that transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-quality distributed system software using software engineering best practices.
  • Work in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you will be working on the most important tasks.
  • Lead the team's technical trajectory, shape our long-term vision and architecture, and take charge of major deliverables from start to finish.
  • Craft roadmaps and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
  • Experience designing or architecting of new and existing systems.
  • 4+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
