About the Role

We are seeking a talented Software Designer to join our team in Madrid, where you will play a key role in the development of our train control signalling solution.

As a Software Designer, you will work closely with our engineering teams to design and develop software requirements and designs based on system-level designs and requirements.

You will be responsible for implementing software designs, including unit tests to verify the correctness and completeness of the software, as well as coordinating peer reviews of software development artefacts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as a team player in a dynamic work environment
  • Learn and apply new tools, techniques, and processes in an environment that focuses on continuous improvement
  • Develop software requirements and designs based on system-level designs and requirements
  • Implement software designs, including unit tests
  • Coordinate peer reviews of software development artefacts
Requirements
  • B.S in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other engineering discipline
  • 3-5 years' experience developing software, preferably in the rail transportation industry
  • Good knowledge of software development principles
  • Good knowledge and experience in software implementation (.NET, Visual Basic, Visual C++, C/C++)
  • Good knowledge of object-oriented design
  • Experience working with the Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with software development tools such as.NET, VB6, Visual C++, Eclipse, Git, GitLab, Gerrit, DOORS, Jenkins
  • Availability to work nightshift and weekends (occasionally)
  • Sometimes travel will be required, especially during the preliminary design and commissioning phase of the project (20-30%)
