Catalyst Development Specialist for Waste Valorization

Research Focus:
CIC energiGUNE is seeking an experienced researcher to contribute to the development of innovative catalysts and catalytic systems for the valorization of CO2 and plastic waste to decarbonized products. The selected candidate will participate in the Pathfinder OPEN project WASTE2H2, which aims to develop novel ionic liquid-based catalytic systems for efficient and selective plastic waste deconstruction to fuels and other decarbonized valuable materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- To design, synthesize, and characterize novel catalysts/catalytic systems in collaboration with the research team.
- To develop and set up fixed-bed, batch, and other reactors under non-conventional and conventional heating sources to carry out targeted reactions.
- To implement characterization tools to analyze reaction products in batch/continuous mode.
- To work closely with the principal investigator and team members to maintain a high level of scientific productivity.
- To prepare, present, and report research results and publish scientific papers in key peer-reviewed journals.
Research Environment:
The selected candidate will join the Thermocatalysis and Ionic Liquids Research Group at CIC energiGUNE, a top research center in Europe. The group is focused on developing innovative solutions for energy and sustainability challenges.
