About the Role:

Eurecat is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer to join our Applied Artificial Intelligence Unit. In this role, you will design and implement innovative solutions based on mathematical algorithms and classical ML techniques, as well as Deep Learning methods like Recurrent Neural Networks and Autoencoders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement solutions based on mathematical algorithms and classical ML: supervised and unsupervised models, regression models, classification, clustering, dimensionality reduction, optimization, recommendation systems, time series, semi-supervised learning, etc.
  • Research innovative techniques and methods in the field of artificial intelligence to stay up-to-date with new trends.
  • Apply state-of-the-art techniques in projects and challenges to be developed.
  • Collaborate on scientific publications, sharing your insights with the wider research community.
  • Participate in tailored growth opportunities within our team, fostering personalized development.
  • Develop project leadership skills, steering us toward success.

Eurecat is a specialized group in applied research and development on ML and AI solutions. Our Applied Artificial Intelligence Unit develops innovative solutions (algorithms, methods, platforms) based on a combination of artificial intelligence and knowledge management technologies, especially for the industrial, energy, and sustainability sectors. We have over 12 years of experience pushing the adoption of state-of-the-art AI and ML solutions for our private customers as well as for relevant European research projects.

Requirements:

  • Possess a passion for Data Science and ML.
  • Hold basic studies in Physics, Math, Energy Engineering, Agronomy, or Forestry Engineering.
  • Hold superior studies in ML, AI, Computer Vision, or a related field.
  • Have hands-on experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, with a track record of applying AI techniques.
  • Be proficient in Python and knowledgeable in basic libraries like Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn, and SciPy.
  • Knowledge of mathematical optimization and its implementation in Python with libraries like Pyomo or PuLP.
  • Valuable knowledge in some deep learning libraries like Keras, PyTorch, and Tensorflow.
  • Be open-minded and multidisciplinary, eager to learn new domains.
  • Have dynamic communication skills, allowing you to effectively convey complex ideas and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Be ready to travel when needed, embracing opportunities to connect with clients, partners, and collaborators worldwide.
  • Speak English, Catalan, and Spanish languages.
