About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Packaging Engineer to join our dynamic Industrial team at Affinity Petcare. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in leading our transition to sustainable packaging and driving innovation in our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and propose new opportunities for improvement and innovation in packaging processes and materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Purchasing, and Operations, to define, plan, and execute development projects focused on cost savings, supply security, innovation, and machine investment.
- Drive innovation and work towards sustainability goals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Supervise the creation and implementation of new packaging formats, conducting lab tests and developing packaging prototypes as needed.
- Coordinate with various plants in different countries to apply best practices and align processes, ensuring consistency and quality across all operations.
- Update suppliers' certificates to meet pet food regulation requirements, evaluating and auditing suppliers to implement improvement plans where necessary.
Requirements
- University degree in Engineering.
- 10 years of experience in packaging, with a strong understanding of industrial operations and collaborative needs of a multinational company.
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in French and Italian a plus.
- Flexible and adaptable, with strong analytical skills and initiative.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent relational and communication skills.
- Capacity for continuous learning and professional development.
