We are seeking a highly skilled Social Scientist to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a Social Scientist for Climate and Environmental Services, you will play a key role in enhancing the societal value of environmental information, climate prediction, and air quality services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform stakeholder analysis to understand their needs and expectations
  • Conduct participatory methods to achieve stakeholder engagement and promote climate services
  • Support user-engagement and knowledge transfer tasks within EU-funded and national projects
  • Write reports and communication material about stakeholder engagement and climate information impact
  • Link with other projects to organize user-engagement activities
  • Travel and attend conferences, workshops, and other events to promote climate services
  • Participate in tasks aiming to sustain climate services post-project
  • Follow up on stakeholders' feedback and needs raised in meetings and workshops

Requirements

  • Education: MSC in Social sciences, environmental management, or similar
  • Essential Knowledge and Experience: Previous professional experience in participatory activities and climate services is preferable
  • Additional Knowledge: Training in climate, environment, air quality, or renewable energies will be valued
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Competences: Ability to work in a professional environment within an interdisciplinary team
