About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Energy Consultant to join our Power Consulting Team in Spain. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing technical assignments and providing expert advice to our clients in the electrical sector.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop advisory projects for System Studies, including distribution, transmission, and generation companies, to help them address regulatory, economic, and electricity challenges.
  • Support utilities in improving their efficiency in operations, evaluating the impact of renewable integration, and assessing the introduction of new actors in the electrical ecosystem.
  • Participate in consulting assignments using established standards, methods, and technologies to develop solutions and resolve issues.
  • Assist in building and retaining long-lasting relationships with internal and external customers to support profitable growth and ongoing satisfaction.
  • Work in an environment of international collaboration within the different Power Consulting units and other Hitachi Energy groups.
  • Provide support on business development and Marketing/sales tasks, including clarifying customer enquiries, analyzing customer feedback, and proposing solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for new and repeating consulting business, building an internal and external network for the exchange of information.
  • Engage in Project Management activities, including planning and scheduling, customer satisfaction, financial and cost management, risk, and opportunity management.
  • Create added value for customers and the organization, ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts, and proposals.

Your Background

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, electrical power systems, or similar, is required. Advanced degrees preferred (Masters, PhD, MBA).
  • More than 5 years' experience in the execution of power systems studies and knowledge of electrical power systems.
  • Experience in the design, understanding, and performance of power systems studies with a consulting approach.
  • Experience and knowledge of the electric power industry, market, systems, and equipment's.
  • Knowledge in power systems modelling and analysis in software simulation, as well as experience in software simulation tools such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD, and definition of different studies static and dynamics.
  • Experience proposing solutions on BESS, FACTS, E-mobility, smart city, electrical transmission and distribution planning.
  • Power systems expertise, equipment knowledge, and elaboration of proposals on energy policy and regulation design.
  • Management, leadership, and advising of private companies and public agencies on the fields of regulation, operation, and strategy in the energy sector at a national and international level.
  • Knowledge in user-defined model development in the software tools for power system analysis will be valued.
  • Python scripting will be valued.
  • Fluent English and Spanish, both written and spoken. Any additional languages will be appreciated.
  • Adaptability, interpersonal skills, teamwork, time organization, consulting, and facilitating, task organization, and information organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
  • Currently valid work permit in Spain.
