**Job Summary**
The World Association Of Zoos And Aquariums is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Fundraising Director to lead the development and delivery of our ambitious fundraising strategy. This role will play a critical part in driving the growth and financial sustainability of our organization, enabling us to continue making a positive impact for captive wildlife.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, aligned with our Global Strategy - Every Animal, to drive income growth and diversification.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, philanthropic organizations, and corporate partners to secure significant funding.
- Manage and forecast income and expenditure budgets, setting key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
- Oversee the Fundraising Manager's role, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of fundraising activities.
- Collaborate with the Director and other senior leaders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
**Requirements**
- Proven experience in raising substantial funds from multiple avenues, with a track record of securing major donations (up to six figures).
- Strong portfolio management skills, with the ability to identify and cultivate major donors from a broad range of funding avenues.
- Excellent strategic planning and leadership skills, with the ability to develop and implement a fundraising strategy plan in line with organizational planning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with donors, stakeholders, and colleagues.
