The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the field of electrocatalysis. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in the area of methane conversion on tailored electrocatalysts.
Research Area:The NanoElectrocatalysis Group at ICN2 is a leading research group in the field of electrocatalysis. Our research focuses on the development of novel electrocatalyst materials for the conversion and storage of renewable energy, as well as the production of sustainable fuels and chemicals.
Job Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as a Postdoctoral Researcher. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Characterizing functional electrocatalyst materials using classical electrochemical methods and in situ characterization techniques such as infrared and Raman spectroscopy and synchrotron-based structural characterization methods.
- Investigating the molecular mechanisms for the direct electrochemical methane activation and conversion into methanol and other valuable chemicals.
- Developing electrochemical and in situ characterization methods and setups for the real-time detection of intermediates and products during electrocatalytic reactions.
- Collaborating with other research groups at ICN2 and foreign research institutions to advance the research project.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A PhD in electrochemistry or a related field.
- Work experience in electrocatalysis and in situ spectroscopy, with relevant publications in electrochemistry and electrocatalysis as a lead author.
- Knowledge and experience in materials characterization, gas chromatography, and synchrotron X-ray based techniques for the characterization of electrocatalytic reactions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of an international team.
