About the Role
ALBA Synchrotron is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Beamline Scientist to lead the activities of the new Surface Spectroscopy and Structure at 1 bar (3Sbar) beamline. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing their own scientific program in diffraction in combination with X-ray spectroscopy, aligned with the scientific program of the beamline.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative hardware and software tools for the 3Sbar beamline.
- Provide support to design, construct and install the 3Sbar beamline in collaboration with the group and support staff.
- Provide support to the scientific users of the 3Sbar as a Local Contact.
- Participate in the beamline research program and national and European projects and collaborations.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or related disciplines.
- At least 2 years of work experience at a synchrotron light source facility with X-ray diffraction related techniques.
- Expertise in X-ray diffraction (XRD) for interfaces with related techniques in synchrotron facilities and data analysis.
- Experience with other hard X-ray related techniques as HAXPES, XANES, or/and EXAFS.
- Experience with operando or in situ experiments.
