This role is an opportunity to make a real impact at Amazon, a company that values diversity and inclusion. As a Systems Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing Amazon's fast growth and technology innovation.

We are seeking a talented engineer to join our Global Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, focusing on maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance of equipment. This is an opportunity to operate and engineer systems on a large scale, and to gain top-notch experience in systems development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers' and our team's workloads.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to uncover infrastructure improvement areas and remove them through automation.
  • Contribute toward the forward looking vision for the team.
  • Help improve operational excellence by reducing technical debt for the team.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience (noninternship) in professional software development
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
