Job Overview:


As the Head of Tax at Dentons, you will oversee various tax practice operations and provide high-caliber tax solutions to our Partners. Acting as a business adviser to our Partners, you will produce high-quality results.



Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as the Head of Tax. The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of income sourcing policies, collaborating with external advisors on local developments and providing support during tax audits. The role will also involve managing tax compliance for partners in various countries, including monitoring tax payments, and working closely with local teams to ensure seamless communication. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing the preparation of K-1 equivalents for US nationals and coordinating Europe-Wide Tax Projects, including the implementation and oversight of transfer pricing policies and documentation. Additionally, you will provide withholding tax support, offer VAT support to local offices, and assist with EDGE implementation, ensuring compliance with Mandatory Disclosure Rules. The successful candidate will also handle tax structuring for growth and restructuring initiatives, support local and European finance teams, including providing training, and oversee tax compliance for group entities, engaging in tax planning and tax risk mitigation. Finally, you will maintain partner capital and current accounts, implement partner distribution policies, monitor partner payments, and collaborate with the Treasury team on cash flow planning.



Requirements:

Adequate professional qualifications, approximately 10 years of professional experience, preferably within the professional services or legal industry, and expert-level understanding of relevant tax laws and regulations, with strong knowledge of accounting standards are required for this role. Proven track record of handling tax issues in a European environment, strong knowledge and understanding of accounting standards, excellent communication skills, strong business relationship-building capabilities, and the ability to handle change with ease are essential for the successful candidate. Additionally, analytical thinking and the ability to navigate within a complex business environment are highly valued.
