ProtonMail is a leading provider of encrypted email services, and we're looking for a skilled Digital Marketing Leader to drive our growth across the globe. As part of our dynamic team, you'll be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that showcases our commitment to online privacy and security.

We're seeking an experienced professional with a proven track record in driving growth through performance marketing, SEO, lifecycle marketing, and CRM. If you have a passion for innovative technologies and a strong understanding of the online privacy landscape, we want to hear from you

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in digital marketing leadership roles, with a focus on growth, performance marketing, and lifecycle/Customer Relationship Management (CRM). You should have a deep understanding of B2C and SaaS subscription-based startups/tech companies, particularly in online privacy, cybersecurity, and productivity contexts.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing a vision and strategy for leveraging digital channels to drive growth across our ecosystem
  • Working closely with Product and business unit growth teams to design growth motions for B2C and B2B
  • Implementing best-in-class testing and optimization strategies, methodologies, and platforms
  • Driving customer acquisition efforts through performance marketing, identifying the right pools of customers, and designing their journey from ad to subscription
  • Developing a lifecycle user strategy for our growing 100 million user base to drive activation, retention, and monetization
  • Developing a demand generation strategy for Proton's growing B2B business, working closely with the Head of Sales to drive efficient pipeline and conversion across SMB verticals
  • Hiring, developing, and leading a team of digital marketers, ensuring their personal and skills development
  • Overseeing the management of digital agencies, SaaS platforms, and tools to help resource and automate our efforts
  • Managing marketing analytics and reporting across the marketing team, to drive insights on key levers and ROI
  • Partnering with the Data team to drive accurate measurement and inference, whilst staying true to our strict privacy principles and protocols

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of [Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year] salary
  • Strong experience in B2C, SaaS, subscription-based startups/tech companies, preferably in online privacy, cybersecurity, and/or productivity contexts
  • Strong domain expertise in performance marketing and lifecycle/Customer Relationship Management (CRM), with experience across SEO, product-led growth, and marketing analytics
  • A big believer in driving sustainable growth and product-led growth, with a holistic approach prioritizing retention and monetization just as much as acquisition and activation
  • Voracious early adopter of new technologies across diverse fields, including privacy, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and cybersecurity
  • Strong empathy for the customer, user-centric mindset, and an unwillingness to lower standards
  • Proven track-record in marketing successful product launches in fast-paced environments
  • A work ethic of going above and beyond to make things happen, with the ability to be hands-on and thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong project management skills
  • Strong ability to both hustle and problem-solve, with blockers being there to be unblocked and no problem too big to tackle
