About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Engineer to join our Amazon Global Security Operations (GSO) team. As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for providing application support, troubleshooting, and customer issue resolution for our physical security system infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day support operations of complex distributed physical security infrastructures
  • Responding to requests in a professional and efficient manner
  • Performing various programming and technical project activities on security systems
  • Reviewing and recommending logical and technical design as defined by documented standards
  • Documenting knowledge in the form of knowledge base articles
  • Ability to work shifts that include holidays and weekends
  • Participating in an on-call rotation
About the Team

The Security Integrations Group (SIG) is a part of the Global Security Operations Technology (GSOTech) group, primarily an engineering team for Amazon's physical security systems across the globe. We participate in the design, development, deployment, and project management aspects of these systems.

SIG provides 24/7 customer support for physical security systems, with engineers available in-office at all times. We work closely with internal and external partners to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends and/or holidays
  • 2+ years of customer-facing IT role or physical security systems/infrastructure work experience
  • Experience scripting in PowerShell or other scripting languages
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in a related field (Information Technology, Communications, Business, Criminal Justice, etc.)
  • Experience managing projects with shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of networking basics through work experience or education
  • Experience building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS, networks, and operating systems
  • Experience with physical security systems (such as Lenel, Honeywell, AMAG, Bosch, Milestone) or their associated hardware
  • Ability to program to solve problems and automate repetitive tasks in a common scripting language
  • Hold a current ASIS CPP, APP, or PSP certification
