About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer to join our team at G+D Mobile Security, a world leader in secure telecommunications systems via SIM/eSIM. As an Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing day-to-day operations in our on-prem data center, handling service requests, changes, incident and problem resolutions, and facilitating second-line support in productive environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Software Deployment and Management: Install and deploy software applications developed by our R&D team in various environments, including test and production.
- Automation and Process Improvement: Automate application installation and continuous improvement processes using Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes technologies.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot application incidents and coordinate with other teams for database, infrastructure, or software issues.
- Service Health Checks: Perform health checks of services/solutions as required or on-demand.
- Future Planning and Compliance: Provide input on future needs and new investments to maintain existing and future services to the Data Center Manager, ensuring compliance with information security requirements in Service Operations.
- Process Evaluation and Improvement: Evaluate, improve, and add applicable instructions to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Team Collaboration: Ensure synergy and communication with development and other application teams globally.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in IT or a related field, with knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and databases (Oracle, SQL Server). You should also possess technical expertise in software applications, familiarity with ITIL processes and Service Management, and excellent teamwork skills. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
