About the Role:

Gantrex is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer - Diagnostics Specialist to join our team in Madrid. As a key member of our diagnostics team, you will be responsible for performing data treatment and analysis for diagnosing port cranes, utilizing various technologies including 3D scanning and vibration analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Perform data treatment and analysis for diagnosing port cranes, utilizing various technologies including 3D scanning and vibration analysis.
  • Utilize 3D scanning software such as FARO Scene and AutoCAD to analyze and interpret data.
  • Occasionally perform on-site data acquisition, which may involve working at heights.
  • Provide technical support to the commercial department by evaluating the feasibility of new inquiries and estimating development effort.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive internal documentation.
  • Participate in projects as a project engineer with technical skills and provide advice internally and externally concerning crane diagnostics.
  • Perform mechanical calculations such as stress analysis, force distribution, and material selection to ensure safe and effective designs.
  • Use CREO software to create 3D models and detailed drawings of mechanical parts, ensuring precision and adherence to industry standards.
  • Define technical requirements for crane parts, including materials, dimensional and geometrical tolerances, and heat treatments.

Requirements:

  • Preferable bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent by experience.
  • Autodidact and follow up on new technology trends.
  • Mechanical design or engineering background.
  • Surveying knowledge.
  • Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings (2D & 3D).
  • Profile with 4 years' experience in mechanical engineering/design and experience with diagnostics: vibrations analysis and/or 3D scanning.
  • Experience within the crane or heavy machinery industry would be a strong advantage but not mandatory.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience with CAD software is a must. Experience with CREO, AutoCAD, and Faro scene is a plus.
  • Familiar with all packages of MS Office.
