About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at AXA XL. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for providing innovative and bespoke underwriting services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze submissions, including policy wording, inspection reports, and financial reports, to determine the degree of risk for each account.
  • Calculate appropriate risk premiums by considering the risk costs inherent to the sector.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality relationships with brokers, clients, and internal functions to ensure satisfaction and fulfillment of insurance requirements.
  • Proactively advise and assist clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure timely implementation of new and renewed accounts.
  • Support the business planning and forecasting process, monitoring financial exposure within outlined limits, and monitoring premium income to ensure it remains within set limits.
  • Maintain awareness of all claims advised.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience in the insurance industry.
  • Previous experience in an Underwriter Property role or knowledge of the insurance industry and property risks.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
