About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and delivering software products and features that will revolutionize the way people interact with books.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable, distributed systems and performant front-end clients using modern full-stack technologies, programming languages, and systems.
  • Work with state-of-the-art technologies such as AWS and React to build software that is stable and performant.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to invent, design, and build software that meets customer requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, team planning, and ticket/metric/COE reviews to ensure high-quality software.
  • Train new team members on software construction, operation, security, and integration with the bigger picture.
  • Help recruit and interview candidates for the team and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Experience in professional software development, including designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • Full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
