Postdoctoral Researcher in Microfluidics for Neural Organoid Network Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Universitat de Barcelona. The successful candidate will be part of the "ZeNeuroid" project, which aims to develop a standardized and automated human-based neural organoid network on-a-chip for drug screening purposes.
Key Responsibilities- Validate microfabrication technologies with iPSC-derived neuronal cell lines and 3D neural network cultures
- Perform connectivity studies, adapt 3D cultures to microphysiological platforms, and characterize neural activity and connectivity using calcium imaging techniques
- Collaborate with our industrial partner, ZeClinics, to develop the biological model of the neural organoids
- Contribute to the scientific management of the project and co-supervise students and research assistants
- Extensive experience with iPSC culture and differentiation techniques
- Proficiency in advanced imaging techniques and data analysis
- Strong background in neuropsychiatric disease modelling and 3D cell culture technologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment
